What…No Christ in Christmas? Not so Fast! - (JB Williams at ChronWatch.com!)

We all know that the ACLU makes its living in the destruction of traditional American values. So its no surprise that once they were successful at removing Christ from the classroom, and then from public square, that there would be more to their ill conceived agenda. But removing Christ from Christmas? Has anyone bothered to look up the definition of Christmas?

In case you haven’t, here it is…according to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition Copyright © 2000, Christmas is simply “A Christian feast commemorating the birth of Jesus, December 25, the day on which this feast is celebrated.”

See how easy that was? Once you get blood sucking lawyers who earn their living making arguments even where none exist, and activist judges with their secular socialist agenda out of the equation, the truth becomes obvious. It seems us Christians are a little too quick to turn the other cheek…Guess we better start qualifying their assertions with some facts. We just assumed they wouldn’t lie to us… That was our first mistake!

These folks who mislead us about the “true” meaning of Christmas, have experienced the same difficulty with other words, like “marriage”, “Patriot” and “war hero”…How in the world can we expect these fools to interpret the complexity of our laws, when they can’t even use a dictionary?

Oh I know what you’re thinking; these folks have the board of education and city managers across this great nation running for cover with their babbling on about some fictitious “separation” clause that doesn’t exist anywhere in our founding documents. Ain’t that a hoot, those responsible for edumacating our young, don’t even know what the Constitution says and can’t use a dictionary either…God help our young! We need Him in our schools more than ever it would appear…

Let me give you a little quiz here, maybe some member of a board or a city manager somewhere will stumble into this article (if one of you shoves it under their nose hard enough).

Who said this? "We have staked the whole future of our new nation, not upon the power of government; far from it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments." James Madison (for you board of edumacation folks, look him up under founding father)

How about this?"An appeal to arms and the God of hosts is all that is left us. But we shall not fight our battle alone. There is a just God that presides over the destinies of nations. The battle sir, is not of the strong alone. Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it almighty God. I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death." Patrick Henry, known as the "firebrand" of the American Revolution.

A year later in 1776, Henry also said this, "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religious, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here." Amazing isn't it, from a framer who intended a clear separation?

What about"I am a Christian, that is to say a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus. I have little doubt that our whole country will soon be rallied to the unity of our Creator and, I hope, to the pure doctrine of Jesus also." These are the hand written words of none other than Thomas Jefferson...he was right...

Maybe you like"It is impossible to govern the world without God and the Bible. Of all the dispositions and habits that lead to political prosperity, our religion and morality are the indispensable supporters. Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that our national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle." Words from the Father of our nation himself, George Washington, in his farewell speech dated September 19, 1796, another clear indication of support for separation...?

Need more? "We have no government armed with the power capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and true religion. Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." from our second President John Adams.

Something more current maybe? "The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country." from our 30th President Calvin Coolidge.

For years, since 1947 to be exact, we have been told that there is a constitutionally mandated “separation of church and state”. An otherwise unknown Supreme Court Justice by the name of Hugo Black, started this rumor when he used the word “wall” in a court decision, resting his opinion upon a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists in 1801.

Problem is, what the good Judge Black didn’t say, maybe what he didn’t read. The letter written by Jefferson was in response to a letter of concern from the Baptists, questioning the powers of government to interfere with church matters, namely free expression, in which Jefferson was assuring the church that the government would have no power over the free expression of religion, as it is now stated in the First Amendment of the US Constitution.

This little lapse of judgment later became the cornerstone of a secular socialist movement to remove all mention of God from public view and discourse. Just like one little decision, by one court, regarding one case and one set of circumstances, became the basis for the 40 million abortions that followed.

Now secular socialist and a few dumbed down liberals will continue their attempts to convince a largely Christian nation that our government of the people should not reflect the core beliefs of those people. But they are wrong, and we are wrong to allow it to continue.

Outlawing Christ from Christmas, or even from the classroom for that matter, is akin to outlawing the English language to accommodate the handful of foreigners in the classroom. Its nuts…Our Christian heritage is as much a part of America as the English language, and it always has been, for just as long…

Last question…How many atheists does it take to whip 100 Christians?

Apparently about 2, because for every 100 Christians there are in America, there are only 2 atheists…

We Christians talk about how goofy these folks are in all their “enlightenment”. But we Christians are the ones letting them run roughshod over our country, with a 98 to 1 advantage, we are getting our butts kicked….How “goofy” is that?

So true.....we conservatives and Christians have been too passive for too long and allowed all this to happen and take hold. But it's not too late to turn the tide

In my apartment biulding some sweet little kids put up a sign in their front window a couple of weeks ago! It simply read ''Merry Christmas'' and was decorated quite pretty, I thought. The apartment manager told the kids to take it down cause he was getting complaints. The kids asked what they could put up in the window and the manager told them nothing with the word'' Christ'' in it cause it would offend people in the building, then said why dont you put up something about a big celebration? The kids being young and I think Latino put up a new sign that read'' Mas cellebrations.'' Taking the first letters out of Christmas leaves MAS which I think in Spanish means more, The trouble is the drapes have now blown in the window COVERING THE ''ebration'' part and the sign now reads ''MAS CELLS!! I havent heard a word from the manager lately so I guess he feels this sign is just fine!

So we COULD change it to Grinchmas - seems to be lots of Grinchians who really practice what they believe in their hearts.

And that goes for their little dog Max as well.

I'd tell the kids to read the lease carefully and if they're within their rights to wish their neighbors a Merry Christmas, then let the complainants stew in their own bile. And tell the kids to sic the Rutherford Institute or the ACLJ after anyone who tries to play hardball with them.

That's terrible. THAT is the sort of thing a local reporter should seize on and publicize. In my Dream America, incidents like that would be handled, not by litigation, but by public pressure. Publish it, and let the apartment manager be picketed by polite CHRISTmas celebrants.

And by all means, let a picture of those winsome kids accompany the story. Now all we've gotta find is a reporter with the guts to write the story and an editor with the objectivity to run it.
