I wouldn't have met with Mfume. I would have waited for the next guy.

What, and miss an opportunity to look presidential in front of Mfume? I'll bet old George had a smirk on his face during the entire meeting. I know I would have.

I seem to recall some recent story about Mfume actually being forced out of the NAACP because he was calling for the organization to begin reaching out to Republicans, specifically to President Bush, instead of automatically giving support to Democrats who patronize, exploit and take them for granted. If Mfume isn't out already, he will be soon. Haven't got time to dig up the details but I do recall reading this within the last week or two.
