Oh, hell, I'd beat your brother-in-law for that.

It's very simple.

Love your husband, take his name.

Especially if her name is "Bitchko-Ruler"

Now that's just asking for trouble.....

I know, sis. I was joking even though it isn't a joking matter. ;(

(The kids are out of school until after the first. Pray for me!)

Xena administers beatings where deserved, regardless of gender. I offer you Exhibit A.

Broad brush statements such as yours do not take into account individual circumstances.

"He was so drunk he thought he was a Democrat.- Spok

Nah... If that had been the case he would have unsuccessfully driven her across a bridge.

I had a Bitchko ruler when I was in school. I kept it in my pencil pack.

Love your husband, take his name.

I agree. I was uncertain where the beating became deserved.

This is true. I deal in sweeping generalizations.

I take that on a case-by-case basis. I start with the assumption that hyphenated women love their husbands less than their careers.

Man, am I ever asking for it today!

I know!!!!

I just despise such broadbrush comments. My name is hypenated, not as some kind of feminist statement, but because I made a mistake. When the judge handed me the pen and said "sign here" I did.......and then realized I had signed it the same way I had been signing my name for 37 years and had to add my new last name. Legally my name is hyphenated, but I never use it that way, except filing tax returns.

School is out here as well - so we'll keep each other's kids in our prayers!!!

Sweeping generalizations are always wrong.

I understand. I've known some women in that situation.
