Its not a matter of how it affects or hurts me. I do not want my children growing up in a society that says homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle. Its immoral and against the teachings of the bible. Whats next? How does 3 people getting married to each other affect me or you? It doesn't. But that does not make it right.

Last time I checked any and all homosexuals could marry. They have that right and I have that right. Now homosexuals are pushing for rights that surpass what they have now. They want to redefine the definition of marriage. Instead of one man marrying one woman, an option open to all, they want same gender marriage. If that is allowed, then why not adults marrying children? How about a mother marry her son? How about marrying an animal? Why not marry my car?

Recognizing a marriage between same sexes is to legitimize an aberrant behavior. I guess I'm old fashioned, but I find same sex relations to be against the laws of nature. There needs to be a standard that everyone lives by. Suicide is a personal choice that deals strictly with ones own body but it is illegal in our society. Assisted suicide is an act between two consenting adults, which is illegal. Prostitution is illegal in most places in the US.

Homosexuality, in most cases, is not illegal. How your behavior based on that lifestyle is where the community is affected. Much like alcoholism, another aberrant behavior, is itself not illegal, however, if a drunk gets behind the wheel of a car it becomes an illegal act.

The issue is not gay marriage, it is community acceptance of a behavior that the majority of the people find immoral. You can try and dress it up as something moral and pure, it is still wrong in the minds of the majority. Several states in this past election back up my assertions, so, I guess for now you will just have to, "Bend over and take it like a man."

"Its not a matter of how it affects or hurts me."

Obviously it does.

" I do not want my children growing up in a society that says homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle."

Move.

"Its immoral and against the teachings of the bible."

Some people have never seen, or read the Bible. For some people a Chiltons repair manual for a 1974 Chevy pick-up truck carries more weight.

"But that does not make it right."

Who are you to determine what is right or wrong for other people?

oh yea,
Merry Christmas :)

Don't forget, next would be 3 people, a dog and two goats getting married while the kids watch. (sarcasm) After all it's PC freedom of expression. Now excuse me while I barf down the slippery slope of liberal/libertarian hell.
