Santa ordered disrobed at Hampton 'holiday' dance -- liberal PC idiots alert!

HAMPTON — A student dressed as Santa Claus was told to remove the suit and white beard when he arrived at a Hampton Academy Junior High School dance last Friday.

SAU 21 Superintendent of Schools James Gaylord yesterday said, "This was not appropriate dress for this dance."

Nancy Serpis, chairman of the Hampton School Board, echoed Gaylord, insisting the dance was a "holiday" event and that dressing as Santa Claus was "inappropriate."

More, if you can stand it

Yep, we're knee deep in PC idiocy when dressing as Santa Claus for a Christmas party is "inappropriate". Astoundingly they cited a religious argument "It was a holiday party. It was not a Christmas party. There is a separation of church and state."

I must have not been paying attention in religion class when they covered the role of Santa Claus. Is he a god or something?? /sarcasm off

They must give out cash awards for PC stupidity in the blue states.

Actually... kinda. Santa Claus is *in* *part* descended from the old Norse god Odin (might've actually been Frey... not sure offhand).

This 'political correctness' is evolving into Thoughtcrime where anything that suggests subversive thoughts, such as Christian beliefs, is banned. Gradually the beliefs themselves will be attacked and eventually criminalized, as Christianity was under Caesar, Hitler and Stalin.

Had he dressed as Mrs. or Ms. Santa Claus not only would he have not been forced to take off his costume, he would have been given special recognition for his progressiveness and diversity in choosing his wearing apparel.

Serpis, asked if the Santa garb symbolized a religious connotation to her, responded, "It's nice if we can respect one another's religious beliefs."

"We try to be sensitive to everyone and in trying to do that, sometimes people feel excluded," she added

I second that nomination.

Respect=extinguish

everyone=people offended that the "holidays" might include Christmas

The new age Marxists wont even tolerate Santa Claus in Christmas even though Santa has become the substitution for Jesus and God the Father...

Interesting....

They cant figure out how to keep celebrating something...on Dec 25...they just don't know what....they do know they don't want to see anything that reminds them of the 'old' Christmas
even if it is Santa Claus...because Santa reminds them of Christmas...which may remind them and others of Jesus...so just because Santa "may" remind someone of Jesus....He too must go...

The day those majority of Christians who celebrate Christmas as the birth of Christ decide to stop buying all the crap that has hitched itself like a remora to the real holiday...will be the day the merchants will be kicking and screaming about their bottom lines...

If the anti Christians and atheists want Christmas apart from Christ... let them have it...but then stop spending thousands of dollars per holiday to keep them and their enablers in business..

What a confused bunch of doofuses...

imo

Huh? I thought it was from St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra (in present day Turkey), from 300AD. His gift-giving role in Christmas follow from his fame as the friend of children. I also understand that he used to give anonymous donations of gold coins to persons in need. His Bishop suit would have resembled Santa's suit to some degree.

"It was a holiday party. It was not a Christmas party."

A holiday is when people are given time off from work. There's only one holiday this time of year.

Merry Christmas.

Good thing the kid didn't dress up like one of the three wise men. He would have been suspended indefinitely. , but scary enough to be true.

Next year he should come dressed in Kwanzaa Garb. Somehow, I doubt that would get censured.
