Geminid Meteor shower was last week. I suppose that was what the Chicken Littles saw.

I saw something peculiar about a week ago (sorry I cannot be more precise) - a pulsing, flaring light source moving very rapidly in a northeasterly direction, trailing a very short-lived tail.
