JA's in Hawaii were never interned because martial law was in effect. Interesting. Hawaii wasn't even a state at the time, so I'd be curious if any action on the part of the U.S. government could have been opposed on Constitutional grounds anyway.

Hawaii at the time was a territory and considered to be a war zone. The US AG who opposed the internment considered the use of martial law in Hawaii constitutional, the federal courts agreed.
