A massive earthquake in Asia unleashed tsunamis killing thousands, exactly one year to the hour after the Bam, Iran earthquake killed 26,000. What are the odds of two of the most destructive earthquakes in decades occuring exactly one year apart- almost to the minute!
December 26, 2003 - Bam, Iran, only 6.6 on the richter scale, but quake is centered directly under the city- 26,000 dead.
December 26, 2004 - Centered off the Indonesian island of Sumatra, the massive quake, which measured 9.0 on the richter scale, unleashed tidal waves across the Indian Ocean.
A strong earthquake occurred at 01:56:52 (UTC) on Friday, December 26, 2003. The magnitude 6.6 event has been located in SOUTHEASTERN IRAN.

Interesting thing about dates and probability is that in any group of, say, 20-30 people you're virtually guaranteed that two will have the same birthday....most people, just guessing, would assume the probability would be much lower.
Where on the planet was Michael Moore when these things happened? I think there ought to be an investigation!

I don't want to get flamed by my comments but just want to pose a thought. In the Bible, God destroyed entire nations that were pagan by natural disasters. These countries for the most part are pagan...worship multiple Gods, don't worship the God of the Bible, could this still be the case?
The news agencies keep pouring in new stories and film by the minute. It amazes me at some of the stupid questions being asked by some reporters.
Question!!! Arn't the reporters and emergency workers potentially in danger from a follow up tusmani?

Back in the day natural disasters happened and pagans died. But when God struck, a Prophet is first sent to warn and get people to repent. Was this the case?

Well, I did see two posts yesterday where one was about Indonesia not letting the minority Christian population have Christmas celebrations and the second was about Christian churches being destroyed or burnt down in Indonesia. Most of the countries affected are largely muslim population or all muslim.
The reason I asked that question is because I head a geologist say there could be many follow up quakes in the next few days and continue for over a year.
If you subtract the threee microseconds that the world slowed down, divide that by pi and drive a Dolorean exactly 88mph wouldn't that show that it happened at the exact minute????? just asking....

Depends upon how strong the aftershocks are. An aftershock of 6.0, while signficicant, is a thousand times weaker than the main 9.0 quake.
It is sobering to see all those villages and nobody is there.

There were thousands of Christians killed in this disaster. The Christian population of India is concentrated on the coasts because of the Portuguese, French, Danish, etc. trading posts.
In one church alone upwards of 1,000 Christian pilgrims were killed by the wave in India.

Checked back in my diary and there it was: there was a 26 Dec the year before the earthquake in Iran. Investigation will continue.

I am sure there are, most europeans are Christian in some denomination. Reformed, Lutheran, catholic and protestant

Buddists are in China, Japan and Korea, some temples in India and othe rasian countries, but India is mostly Hindu, as well as Malaysia. Indonesia and parts of Malay are mostly Muslim.
