The message was linked to the crash death of another member of my brothers squadron who was a close friend of my brother. The second crash occurred more two months after the crash that killed my brother. The message was created on secure U.S. Government computers via a random number generation program and was part of the friends orders. The friend had received the orders the day before his own flight and had called our Mother that evening to let her know that he had received a message from my brother. The friend and fellow officer was killed the next morning when his own plane crashed shortly after takeoff. Both crashes were determined to be accidents caused by air frame failures. Some people had thoughts that the message was a warning to his friend but in retrospect we realized it was a way to send a clear message to both our family and his friends family that death was nothing to fear.
