H-conserv is really for academics, and it runs through a (good) moderator but it lacks the fire of FR and also is VERY slow. Moreover, because it IS mostly academics, many don't want to say anything that is too controversial for being "outed" as "real" conservatives. So they tend to be a quiet bunch.

I know someone who left an MA program because of rampant academic marxism. During the Cold War parts of his family had been behind the iron curtain, and knowing their former plight, he felt nauseated every time his teachers would bring up some marxist concept.

H-Conserv/Conservativenet sure is quiet. Jensen seems to be the only one who ever writes anything.

That is what it looked like from the archives anyway. I see one of the guys is from Emporia. That is one school on my list for getting a master's in history if I do indeed decide for certain I want to go this route instead of journalism.
