Koffi is on TV discussing how the U.N. WILL respond to the Disaster. He is going to hold a meeting with the Eu next week, to decide how they will help the victims. he thinks the response by nations is "good". A reporter asked him about the Muslim response, but he said he would have to get back to him.
Isn't the UN being a bit slow and stingy in its relief efforts? (/sarcasm)
Maybe he will form a blue ribbon commission.
On January 5th, the UN will be making a financial appeal to governments. That's going to be a bad day if we give them ANY control over the money to distribute in this matter.
Next week. I'm sure that will be a relief to those who are trying to survive today in the disaster area. As long as they have meetings and talk about doing something it will count on their resume.
Next week? Next WEEK??!!?
Isn't that being a little "stingy"?
Oh, this is great!
Kofi being attacked by the reporters, asking why he stayed in Jackson Hole for three days and "let the United States take the lead in this disaster!"
He's trying to get out in front of the parade now.
Bush has completely co-opted him again!!!!!!
Amazing...this is what the UN does...they hold meetings.
God forbid they should take ACTION.
this is precisely the problem with the UN. NEXT WEEK? People are getting sick now. Bodies need to be buried, burned, now.
BTW, just heard on a news break on the radio that people are showing up at medical areas with chicken pox, measles and something else.
Live thread!
It's on CSPAN!
And that is just a meeting to discuss. We all know about the infamous UN memos.
The UN is looking to be the coordinating arm for all relief $$$$$.
Oil for food part two.
The UN is also looking to take the credit. Seriously what the heck is Unicef doing in all this? This is outside their mission, what happened a pregnant survivor needs an abortion?
The United States is on the ground!
Foiled again, Kofi!
Indonesia reporting at least 75,000 dead; Shi Lanka at least 25,000; Yawn says the 115,000 number WILL rise today.
He should quickly send UN staff and soldiers over there to start raping and pillaging the survivors, which is happening in the Congo.
Next Week? WTF? People can die from lack of water in a week.
Shake-down time for the EU by the Jessie Jackson of the UN!
Glad you said it moved to C-Span; all the other channels had opted out.
by NEXT WEEK anyone who needs immediate help will be dead.
hold some more damm meetings you idiots...
