The disaster has focussed world attention on the region
Separatists fighting for Aceh's independence from Indonesian rule feel the tsunami that wrecked the region could eventually help in heralding peace.
Ummm.....The Aceh Rebels want to set up an Islamic Republic in Aceh. They're rebelling because they consider the Indonesian Government not Islamic enough.
I've sort of been noticing that people may have been under the impression the Aceh independence movement and rebels were Christians rebelling against Indonesia. This is not true.
Bandeh Aceh is a terrorist base. They were murdering Christians and commiting genocide.
We are well rid of them. The only benefit to peace is the hope that many of the Islamofacists are dead.
I'm under no delusion about their being a
Christian outfit. <>g<> But I do have
the notion that they are NOT a jihadist
group as is (were?) the Aceh politicos.
Am I wrong in my evaluation here?
I am taking into consideration that I
read about them through the eyes of
al Jazeera...which is a caution in itself!

Ah, so they're the "good guys" according to the bad guys. Yes, you might want to take that into account.
