Most of them are just fine. But we have 55 votes in the Senate. We can't afford to lose more than five on a rules change vote. I would love to hear your secret formula for holding Chaffee, Snowe, Collins, and Specter in line.
The good news is, maybe we can win without them. I have a hunch Frist will go nuclear if he has the votes to win.
I wish I knew. I think it is nearly impossible. The ones you list care not about the principles upon which this great Republic was founded, but care more about "getting" along. They have been in Washington so long that they fully understand there will be no consequence in opposing Bush (other than verbal ramblings). That's politics.
