If she finds the song "Dixie" offensive because it is "associated with slavery", what does she think of the South? I guess we are not allowed to set foot in Madison (not that I would want to) because, by her logic, we are associated with slavery.
I never realized how much the north hated the south until I got internet.
Please, not all northers hate the south.
Such regional hatred by residents of the other region merely shows the benefits of valuing the individual, and the silliness of such general hatred. Which is why that blanket hatred seems so visible at DU--"them dumb rednecks" seems to be their phrase of choise.
Don't be ripe for demagoguery. Nowhere near all northerners hate the south, just like nowhere near all southerners hate the north.
lol...it's an eye opener isn't it.
Neither did I.
I'd certainly never been called a traitor before!
Back when I was in the service, I detected the hatred of the South was palatable with some people. California natives were quite noticeable among those ranks.

I've lived in the north all my long life. We do NOT hate the south. We are jealous of your warm weather, your magnolias, and your southern fried chicken, but we do not hate you. Now take it back, or I'm gonna punch you in the nose.
