Because if they have to answer that question honestly it means that the People have heard their potion on the issues and don't agree with them. It would cause their poor little psyches to melt down to realize the rest of the nation prefers a can do frame of reference as opposed to someone do for me. It would mean they would have to be responsible for themselves and their own actions, which means they no longer could be victims. Bwahahahahahahahaha! That scares the living sh*t out of them.
