I thought that too. I was surprised she had the stance, since she had always been helpful in making sure the other children were not inconvenienced because of her son's allergy. Although, we often used the soy free snacks just because they tasted better.
At least she was a lot better than the lady who came in during snack time when I was teaching church nursery and gave me a laundry list of things her child could not and would not have. Including, that he was only to have bottled water from his own sippee cup (the other children used water fountain water in paper cups). It wouldn't have been so memorable if she had talked to me before. She did this right at snack time.
