Anticlimactic, unfortunately. There weren't enough Brits there to take umbrage to this light-hearted jab. Place was primarily filled with Aussies, Kiwis and Yanks - who were too busy trying to hook up with each other to listen to the words - which is what any decent schlock-rock gig should be all about anyway. But we did get'em all singing along with what they apparently think is the National Anthem - which is "American Pie".
But I will resuscitate this song at another pub, when I again see the gang of Scotts that cornered me, after they'd asked all around to find a Yank to lord over the fact that they'd just beaten the American Chamber of Commerce's golf team that day. All in good fun...
