Thanks for posting this. I wondered what time this would be on.

I will be on this thread as much as I can. Looks to me like the long knoves will be out. I am hoping the democrats have misunderestimated Gonzales, too.

Thanks for the ping. Bravos to Gonzales for saying he will not buckle to the dem demands. Time for Specter to justify his being supported to Chairman of the committee AND being reelected in PA.

I don't know, never heard of him, but according to that web site "This is an important chance for CVT to inform the thinking of our national leaders."

I'm not holding out much hope for coherency.

Speaking of Johnson, here's an interesting link. This guy runs some kind of a torture treatment center? Considering he treats real torture victims, you'd think he'd know the difference between what the Dems are alleging and the real thing.

Another Johnson related link. From the link:

These memos read as advising how close one can skirt to the law and still not be guilty," says Douglas A. Johnson, executive director of Minneapolis's Center for Victims of Torture. "They're what we expect to read out of an Enron memo or a mob-lawyer memo, but not advice to the president of the United States."

Well, actually, I kinda thought clarification of what's permissable and what ain't was the whole point, Mr. Johnson. How do you know if you don't ask?

Time for Specter to justify his being supported...

Ditto!

Although the attempt to ‘Bork’ Gonzales will be the main show. What I’ll be watching is how Specter conducts the hearings. This is going to be his first test.

But considering he is a RINO, I’m not very encouraged.

From this link, brought to us by the Presbyterian Church no less, apparently the funding for treatment for torture victims is federally funded. And because funding wasn't up to snuff, sounds to me like these folks have an axe to grind.
