SpongeBob, Barney Promote 'Gay' Tolerance

In a new video to be distributed to 61,000 schools across the nation, homosexual activists are using popular children's TV characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants and Barney the dinosaur to surreptitiously indoctrinate young children into their lifestyle, a pro-family activist group charges.

Based on the 1970s hit song "We Are Family," the video will be distributed to public and private elementary schools nationwide March 11, along with lesson plans for teachers, points out the American Family Association.

The distribution, sponsored by FedEx, will coincide with the video's broadcast March 11 on Nickelodeon, PBS, and the Disney Channel in celebration of the proposed National We Are Family Day.

The arguments against these, just like those against the Telltubies (sp?) or Bert and Ernie, are a real stretch. Some people are just obsessed with anything that could be considered gay. Hard to believe that I will defend the purple one (no, not Prince!), but as a parent of one of the first generation of Barney watchers, I recall one of the better episodes from the first season was all about different kinds of families (one of the girls lived with her grandmother).

In the song about families, the most "outrageoues" they got was saying that a girl lived with her mom and her "dad lived far away" and she "sees her parents one at a time". No other explanation.

Note that not one family in the song (or on the show) had two mommies.

It's unfortunate that the worldnetdaily article points to a different website than the foundation that is distributing the video.

www.waf.org is a different group from the www.wearefamily.org. There are no videos at www.waf.com, while it is prominently displayed at the other site. I can't find a connection between the 2 groups at all.

I wonder if the editors at worldnetdaily are aware of this.
