Your offer to return the camera for $1,000 shows that you may not have taken reasonable measures to return the camera and that you may have had an intent to deprive the rightful owner thereof. If you had asked for $50 for FEDEX and your time to go to Kinkos to ship it, then you would probably would have been okay.

The reason people are angry with you is that Civilized Human Beings have developed a Code of Laws that reflects society's agreement as to what is justice. Imagine if finders keepers was the rule, people would have an incentive to make people lose stuff, people would threaten and use force to retrieve their lost property.
If you had come forth and offered to return it you sir would be regarded as a good citizen. In fact due to the soldier's status, some of his staute would have been associated with you.
Instead you choose to ignore both basic human decency and possibly Pennsylvania law. The Golden Rule is called such because it truly is the fundemental basis of Western Civilization as we know it. Since you seem to have a lack of knowledge of it I shall state it here for your perusal.

Funny thing though..I did some checking through Google too and found out alot about this guy.
Actually I beleive the perp sent pics through the station and the soldier said they were not his pics.

And this is how I live by.
I believe the original pictures on the film were the soldiers but that the perp took pics over the originals and than sent those instead..which wouldn't be Wrigleys pics.
