How about transporting the stolen property across state lines...does that matter at all? Extradition needed to PA?

What a stupid article. The soldier doesn't know the make and model of his own camera?
The crook can't read?
How hard would it be to identify a camera even if it had no pictures in it?

Yeah, my bad. Sorry everyone. I am so ashamed. That's the first time I've ever had a post pulled. I'm going out to pick up trash on the playground.

I onece left a set of keys on a counter at the PostOffice. Later, I returned and found a "to whom it may concern" note saying , anyone who had left their keys call phone number xxx-xxxx. I called, and sure enough they were mine. I went to this guy's office to retrieve them. I at first of course expressed gratitude, but it became clear he expected some reward. I have done much greater favors for people and never expected recompense, so I was content to just take back the keys off his desk, say Thanks and leave.
If it had been a child I might well have given him a reward for his honesty but this was an older, obviously affluent business man. Some things do not need explanation.

Definitely. This guy committed a crime and tried to extort $1000; how about a $10000 fine? Or he could go do community service... in Iraq.
That's not extortion, that's trying to sell stolen property. (Extortion might let the station off as part of the shield law, but stolen property isn't something that has ever been quoted as being protected.)

As someone else said, this sounds like a hoax. The pictures he emailed to the news station were NOT this guy's pictures so he most likely does not have the camera. The name "Crook" is just too obvious.
It's just some idiot making a mockery of the situation.

Tell Mr. Crook that you won't press charges for his theft of the camera if he returns it now.

"I don't really do things out of kindness. It's a business world and I know it seems harsh but, you know, it is all about the money" Crook said.
IF this story is real and this guy really said this, this guy has more problems than just being an a$$hole.
Hopefully, this guy will never need to rely on the kindness of others for something precious or important to him. However, if he should, I hope that those intendeding to help him out " . . . don't really do things out of kindness. It's a business world . . . . "

"NBC 10's Vince DiMentri showed the pictures to Wrigley, who said they are not his photos."
Attention Mr. DiMentri: If the photos involve me, Laurie Dhue, Laura Ingraham, a Christmas tree and a shag carpet, please contact me privately to arrange their return.

Oh, wait, that was just a dream. Never mind.

I just talked with Michael Crook in Lumberton and he was totally unaware of this. He knows that there is another Michael Crook in New Jersey and he said that he used to get e-mails for him at work. Please do not call him as he is not the one referenced in the story. Why would you call him in the first place? Are YOU the soldier who lost his camera or are you the family of the soldier who lost his camera?

I would never tar a team's entire fanbase because of one ass. That's true.
It's the other 75,000 asses that show up each Sunday that cause the tarring. ;)

Seems like the man is in the business of stealing cameras.
