Democrats still in denial
Boston Herald ^ | 1/07/05 | Boston Herald editorial staff

The count-every-vote crowd just can't get over the fact that George W. Bush actually won re-election by a 3 million vote margin because he spoke to the issues that Americans care about.
No, disgruntled Democrats remain in denial. Yesterday some threw a collective hissy fit in Congress, forcing separate House and Senate meetings to consider the official tallying of Electoral College votes for the first time since 1877. It was childish and churlish.
Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) aided and abetted the effort begun by Ohio's House delegation aimed as questioning voting procedures in that state.

``I have concluded that objecting to the electoral votes from Ohio is the only immediate way to bring these issues to light,'' Boxer said.

That the Ohio recount gave Bush a 118,000 vote margin of victory is for Boxer and the Ohio delegation just another inconvenient fact.
While visiting U.S. troops in Iraq, former presidential contender John Kerry [related, bio]

issued a statement saying there are ``very troubling questions'' about the Ohio voting, adding he would present a plan later to improve voting procedures. Meanwhile, an e-mail sent in Kerry's name to 3 million supporters urged them to bombard the offices of House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) with phone calls. Oh, very mature that!

And on the oped page of yesterday's Boston Globe, Kerry's brother Cameron, co-director of Lawyers for Kerry-Edwards, insisted, ``The investigation continues. John Kerry, the Election Protection Coalition and the Democratic National Committee will document inequitites, voter suppression and irregularities.''
Yep, you just keep believing that - not that Kerry was a flawed candidate. Not that he failed to address the issues the American public believed were important. Not that the Democratic Party has lost touch with average Americans.
To ignore all of that is to consign the Democratic Party to permanent minority status. But the fiction of voter fraud is obviously easier to deal with than the fact of a party and its candidate gone astray.

Many thousands of Republican converts were born today with that piece of theater by Democrats.

They have been lying so long they cant even tell when they are lying to themselves. They cant face the truth, because the horrible truth is.....liberalism was rejected by most Americans. Why? well if they start asking that question they must question liberalism itself. That is not going to happen. Their monstrous egos wont allow it.

Yes, The Boston Herald, NOT the Boston Globe.

The Herald is a fairly conservative paper.

They prefer "moral relativism" over truth. Truth carries with it the burden of accountability. God forbid they should ever be held accountable for their actions - Well, I guess the voters held some of them accountable.

By the way - great screen name! "Evil Dead 3" is the best one!

" The Herald is a fairly conservative paper"

Maybe, I have to admit I used to look at the Globe and the Herald on line daily and I thought they were both liberal, albeit the Herald much less than the Globe.

Might be my own perceptions colored by my view from the left coast.

This asswhole is always presenting a "plan." When asked what his plan is, he responds that he has a plan to present his plan.

This jack-ass has to make more folks than I very dizzy with his smoke and mirrors "plans." Am I the only one?

No, you're not the only one, can you imagine him a president, we'd never get anything accomplished, as he can't make a decision & has NO plan for anything!

Do they really think we didn't notice his obvious absence today??? Do they really think we are that stupid to believe he just happened to plan this trip to Iraq NOW?

I don't recognize liberals any more. I mean its like these people literally live on another planet. They don't accept American exceptionalism, American greatness; they spew hate for our country, its people and its institutions. For us, its beautiful to see them consigned to permanent minority status. Heck, with over the top antics like today's the Democrats' insanity is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

"Many thousands of Republican converts were born today with that piece of theater by Democrats."

It should be so but I wonder. It seems the MSM averted its collective eyes out of shame at their masters' embarrassing antics.

Cam (Cameron) Kerry has played a key role in every political race the senator has run, a track record dating back to his brother's ill-fated first bid for Congress in 1972.

That race earned Cam Kerry a special place in Bay State political lore. He was arrested for breaking and entering the building housing both Kerry's campaign and a rival candidate on election eve, but the charges were dropped. The Kerry camp has said it was a set-up after an anonymous caller threatened to cut the campaign's phone lines.

"The younger Kerry, a senior attorney at the politically connected Boston law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris and Glovsky, drew some flak earlier this year from campaign watchdog groups for his work on behalf of telecommunications and cable TV firms. The senator sits on a Senate panel that oversees the industries, but both brothers have insisted over the years that they never discuss such issues. " The Boston Herald
