The headline is totally misleading. McClellan ducked the questions completely. He did not say what the headline says. The White House is not involved with this at all.
I agree: The WH is NOT "leading" any effort to fix this problem, nor any other vote fraud problem....
Rather, it has ignored all efforts. And all democrat crimes.
The press sec's answer here was simply evading the question. Not publicizing it!
In addition, McClellan did not say some pablum along the lines of "The election in Washington has been certified and is finished" or some such.
He said the issue continues in the state. They are not objecting to the Republican party pursuing the revote and that, in politics, is tantamount to support.
Yes, they are.
The W.H. sent their lawyers from Florida over here to help. Behind the scenes they have taken an interest.
They haven't taken a public role, I believe, because they do not want Florida made an issue by the MSM AND because Democrats are currently supporting a revote. This is a state that went for Kerry, but Rossi is well liked. If it because an issue of Bush vs. Dems that support could erode. It's a matter of understanding the political prejudices in this state, and while Bush could focus national media, it stands to cause more harm than good if he is the public face behind this effort.
