I received a post card from BIASW on the Vancouver rally.

I am trying to rearrange my schedule so I can attend.

I think Washington state law requires that all the counties conform to the same standard for validating and counting ballots. The county in question which finally determined the outcome departed from the accepted standard used by the other counties, and a liberal judge approved of the departure from the standard when the change was challenged by Republicans.

That ruling is contestable, and rightly so since the ruling is in and of itself contrary to the accepted law of the land for the state. The third recount in that county should be tossed out and considered void.

Dino is the best thing to happen to the WA GOP in decades. And he isn't even in office yet.

I think filing the election contest in Chelan County is a pretty good idea. They don't much care for the folks in Seattle. Not going to say it is forum shopping, but as long as the court there has jurisdiction, forum shopping is legal.

Do you mean state or federal when you say Supreme Court?

Oh sorry, I meant our state Supreme Court. I don't think the federal Supreme Court will get involved. However, who knows, the feds could get called in to investigate.

In Maryland no ID is required. Election workers are specifically told NOT to ask for ID because it's "intimidating". Yep! that's what they say. They don't call this the logic free zone for nothing. I'm told in at least one county, illegals are allowed to vote for local elections as well.

I think Washington state law requires that all the counties conform to the same standard for validating and counting ballots.

I think after the 2000 national election that a federal law was passed that all votes had to have the same standards applied. So I think state and federal laws have been broken.

Does Rossi really have a chance to change the outcome or get a revote? Realisticly what are his chances?

With all due respect, the question was how to bring pressure, not how to influence via public opinion.

State supreme courts are very sensitive to the perception and opinions of higher federal courts. This sensitivity can be enhanced or 'pressured' by the specter of lawyers taking a poorly supported state supreme court decision to the federal level.

In fact, if the case has clear precedent, the federal courts could remand state court decisions with prejudice and possibly extreme prejudice. Such an event can be a career killer for state judiciary members.

How to take a state decision to the federal level is the question. Some say there are 14th Amendment grounds. It would be informative to discuss possible grounds for a federal hearing, just in case.

If you mean would a run-off election be a way to settle this, I would say no.

No, I meant did they allow run-offs, which would then be a contradiction to the governor election being held simultaneous with the legislative elections.
