I think MEG33 is right. The left would use anything they could find against the SwiftBoat Vets and the Bush Administration. They certainly pulled some stunts during the campaign and there's nothing to stop them after it. A letter or memo of thanks from an official source for SwiftBoat Vet activities obtained by the MSM is all they'd need. Heck...... they don't even need a real one.

The SwiftBoat Vets and Vietnam (and other) Vets were instrumental in exposing Kerry and deserve a huge THANK YOU. No direct acknowledgement is disappointing, but maybe this part of the inauguration is a subtle way of saying it.

While I was looking at the inauguration site found this interesting link to inaugural ball history. Grant's parties take the prize, IMO.
