Being smart and being ignorant are not opposites. The former is a manner of innate quality--i.e., the ability to process information received and assess its meaning. The latter is a reflection on the quality of information that one possesses.

Kind if like how liberals say Bush is the biggest moron North of the Brazos river but has somehow been smart enough to steal two elections.

Given these views, cognitive dissonance must be a skill liberals work on developing.
