Is this the hopeful sign the Bush administration is seeing? Why is there such optimism? I don't get it.

Targets of opportunity, IDF!

"Why is there such optimism? I don't get it."

I think that the desire for peace is so great that any straw will be grasped at. In my hmo, that is what is going on now. I only wonder how many passes Abbas will get? Arafat got endless passes so I am quite worried.

I find the discussion of "peace" and "hudna" in the same breath disgusting. A hudna is a dishonorable truce--there is no honesty, and no intention of moving onwards towards peace.

Lesson learned: Free elections means people are free to elect terrorists as their leaders.

Then what?

I think the Hamas bombers need to practice first. They should set off a few bombs in Damascus first, and see if they succeed in killing themselves. If so, then they can try it on the Israelis.

"Oh suicide bomber, wrap yourself with an explosive belt and fill the scene with blood," chanted a chorus of five male students at the rally

Wow. They really know how to come up with those catchy chants, don't they?

Organizers said the timing of the parley was not linked to the election of Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) as Yasser Arafat's successor. Speakers refrained from making any reference to the election, pointing out the event, approved by the university administration, had been planned long before the vote.

Right. So Abu Mazen and other cleanshaven terrorists in designer suits can try to keep straight faces as they claim to have nothing to do with that "fringe group."

Hasan Yousef, the moderate Hamas leader

LOL! That's like referring to UBL as the moderate Qaeda leader.

Yousef said Hamas did not rule out the possibility of a truce with Israel. "Hamas has in the past offered many gestures and a hudna (temporary truce) to Israel, but the response has always been more escalation and assassinations," he added.

That's because the Israelis aren't as stupid as the islamofascists wish they were. The Israelis know that a "hudna" is nothing more than a respite in order to regroup and re-arm.

Hamas keeps playing the same old broken record. It should be thrown out forever from their tired old Juke Box.

Has there been an official derogatory name assigned to Abbas yet? I submit Anass for consideration.

Give the innocent 24 hours to flee, seal the area, and kill every living thing in Gaza. This BS has gone on for far too long.

Same ole Islamikazes howling and baying. I swear that some of them over there would call for Jihad and suicide bombing "martyrs" if a butterfly sneezes.
