"The provincial surgery waiting list website is inaccurate and its numbers inflated because it includes patients who died before surgery and others who are counted more than once.
The list is supposed to help patients estimate how long they must wait for surgical procedures, but the B.C. government now says the system, created in 1999, has never worked.
The list currently shows a record 80,710 people waiting for operations..."

But think how much money they are saving on surgery. It is much cheaper to have funerals instead.
Once the state is responsible for the cost of medical care, the state is going to want you dead.
Yes! There is such a long wait, that patients die before the get the medical care they need.
I still remember part of an episode of michael 'fatty' moore's short lived TV show where he showed just how wonderful the canadian health care system was. IIRC Bob costas narrated it along with another sportscaster like they were doing play by play and in awe over how smoothly everything went.
That's when I lost whatever respect I had for bob costas. He can smoke a turd in hell for helping push a health care system that doesn't work.
From the article(page 2)
"...but he has more than 1,000 patients seeking consultations and some of those will have to wait up to two years for an appointment...."
And don't forget all those who waited sooooo long as to be now toooooo old to have the surgury.
Unbelievable, isn't it?
My elderly dad waited over TWO YEARS for a basic surgical procedure to relieve back pain that he had experienced for decades.
This version explains Democrat votes.
I didn't make the connection, but B.C. borders Washington state.
It makes sense now! Gregoire must be a supporter of any system that allows her the opportunity to gain more (dead) voters! But, importing them from British Columbia is just wrong!

THIS IS A BIT GRAPHIC. IF YOU ARE BOTHERED BY SICK STORIES, DON'T READ THIS. JUST MEDICAL, NOTHING WORSE
I happened upon a Lumberjack Competition program on OLN a few weeks back, and at the tail-end some dude was on there after the awards. He said, in essence, that a while back he slipped with the axe and cut off a toe. The guy saved it and went to the hospital to get it reattached. The officials told him in essence that it was not a major problem to lose a toe and would therefore not attach it again for him. Can you imagine a doctor here saying that, to a competition athlete no less?
Coming to a country near you if you vote Deomcrat....
That is, of course, Democrat, friends. One day, I promise I will learn how to type for y'all.
socialized medicine ping
If you love waiting in line for less than urgent treatment, you'll love Canada's health care system!
We already have a Canada-like system, if you're in managed care. It can take months to see a specialist.
Add to that, "It will take just a bit more government regulation and a little less individual freedom, but it will work."
Ooooookay.
It's not that the hospitals don't have beds available. There are whole wings not being utilized. But the governments have screwed everything up so badly that they don't have nurses, doctors, or technicians to staff the hospitals like they did in the 60's and 70's.
And, many times, you'll hear stories of people going to the hospital just to lie in their gurney-bed in the hallway for sometimes up to a day or more.
It's unbelievable I tell you.
