Kid Rock Won't Perform at Inauguration Youth Concert
CNSNEWS.com ^ | 1/13/05 | Susan Jones

(CNSNews.com) - Rock artist Kid Rock will not perform at the youth concert for the presidential inauguration, and conservatives are applauding the news because of outrage at the content of his lyrics.

"We have been informed that Kid Rock will not perform," said Donald E. Wildmon, chairman of the American Family Association.

According to Wildmon, over 100,000 people called and e-mailed the Presidential Inauguration Committee to voice their concerns over news that Kid Rock was invited to perform.

Wildmon said Kid Rock's lyrics focus on recreational sex and send a message of female sexual exploitation, both of which contradict the values of voters who support the president.

The rock artist also appeared in a porn film in 2000, the AFA noted.

Before my time, but weren't people outraged at a guy named Elvis not too long ago?

Yes, and the fact that Kid Rock would even be considered entertainment sought after by youth and condoned by many adults shows how far we've sunk since Elvis.

It gets difficult to remember all the names we get called sometimes, doesn't it?

Yes, it is. The especially bad or funny ones do tend to stick out, though.

I just had to ping you guys to #52. Ya just gotta see some stuff to believe it. Particularly this...

" Its great that somehow they think they are conservative or Republican and they vote that way. The communists had a term for it called useful idiot."

Apparently, 80 percent or so of the GOP who are not members of the Christian Right are "useful idiots".

Thanks, I was not aware of all of the positive things he has done. I hope more more entertainers will follow his good example.

I still think he has an image problem that is affecting alot of people. I don't listen to him so if saw him perform at a Republican fundraiser or for the troops I might walk away with a more positive opinion of him. However, if I had listened to some of his other stuff first I probably wouldn't want to listen to him ever. First impressions seem to stick more than others and apparently alot of people like him and a lot of people don't.

"We are on a slide to lose the next election if we keep eating our own. Forty years of being the minority party didn't teach us a thing."

Lol, what nonsensical paranoia.

NEWS FLASH:

The GOP DOMINATES BOTH HOUSES AND THE PRESIDENCY (and has continued on the upswing).

P.S. -- Think of Kid Rock's non-performing at the Inaugural as "cleansing the palate."

If there were a white trash contest, he should M.C.

Psst. A little secret. "White trash" people vote, too.

By saying it wasn't true

That's a separate issue. I'm talking about "kid Rock" as a conservative or as appropriate for a Presidential inuguration performance. Or respecting his public persona.

That was almost coherent. Not that it mattered, because your conclusion wouldn't have been any better even if it had been better presented. No wonder I was pinged to this post.

We vote that way because we support what is supposed to be the Republican Party's fiscal conservatism.

First impressions do make an impression (lol)

People aren't aware of what he does, just what some of his lyrics are.

What's funny, is what a southern rock redneck he is, and he's from Detroit.

Anyway, I wouldn't let my kids listen to him, they're too young, except they probably wouldn't understand the words anyway. But if they were the Bush daughters' age, they probably would.

So, you're admitting you're talking about something that didn't happen, isn't going to happen, and won't happen, just to do what, trash a lot of your fellow Freepers?

A song called "Balls in Your Mouth". How the hell can you guys defend this moron? If this makes me a prude, I truly do fear for the future of our country.

Do you really think Kid Rock would have played any songs containing profanity at an Inauguration party? I kind of think the details of that would have been ironed out ahead of time by his management and the administration.

I've been saying that for two days now. I've been ignored every time.

The groupthink of the cluck-cluckers seems to be that, since KR sang some dirty songs, he shouldn't be allowed to sing even clean ones at the Inauguration.

It'd be bad for the CCHHHILLLLRRRUUUNNN, y'see?

NEWS FLASH: The GOP DOMINATES BOTH HOUSES AND THE PRESIDENCY (and has continued on the upswing).

NEWS FLASH:

Republican electoral success is not inevitable. If they alienate enough people, they're back in minority status.

Ironic, isn't it, that when Democrats advocate national health care "for the children", it's a bad thing.

Answer some questions.

Whe did the hype begin about this?

When was it made clear he wasn't playing?

When was there an official statement from "Rock" or a spokesman?
