Whenever I think our party has a future, something like this happens.

Before my time, but weren't people outraged at a guy named Elvis not too long ago?

Re the Bush girls and their invitation

In some households the kids rule the roost.

Thank goodness, not unsurprisingly, this appears not to be the case with George and Laura.

'What does the way he looks or dresses have to do with anything? How old are you, anyway?'

I think what he looks like and how he dresses has a lot to do with it. Like it or not, people make assessments about your character based on the way you dress. If you choose to dress like a rebel, you probably are. From what I have been hearing about this guy, it seems like an accurate appraisal.

900 or so replies on this thread here.

Some of them make me wonder how I voted for the same guy as some of these posters.

We are on a slide to lose the next election if we keep eating our own. Forty years of being the minority party didn't teach us a thing.

Worth repeating.

Ol Kid needs a haircut and something to wear other than a tank top T. If there were a white trash contest, he should M.C.

Ooookay...

Actually, as was pointed out on the other thread, Kid Rock wasn't even booked in the first place.

No matter, Dandy Donnie Wild-Man couldn't resist a chance to grab some publicity.

Even if KR were to be bokked, he wouldn't be "representing" anyone, just providing entertainment. It's also ridiculous to assume that he'd perform his "raunchier" material at an event which would be thoroughly controlled, for a president he supported. He's quite capable of avoiding the racy stuff, if the venue demands it. He did so when he appeared at the Super Bowl.

Some folks will simply not rest until all Republican events resemble "the Lawrence Welk Show" or a revival meeting, with an attendant loss of votes.

I wish they'd quit confirming every Leftist stereotype of conservatives.

If Kid Rock is kind enough and concerned enough to visit our troops and entertain them in Iraq and afghanistan then he's good enough to entertain at the Bush Twins party. Rock and roll is a true American art form and Kid Rock carries on that tradition. That "Big Tent" of the GOP seems to have gotten smaller since the election.

I'm sorry, you guys defending Kid Rock are idiots. Here's a sample of Kid's lovely lyrics...

Cruisin' thru town in my jacked up truck
eyes open cuz I'm scopin' for a big butt slut
One that I can take straight back to my house
and have her suck my **** and put my ***** in her mouth
Now get, get with it looked across the street
I seen a slimmy in a skirt boppin to the beat
So I capped up my 40 threw it under the seat
rolled up on the freak and I started to speak
But before I could talk she go grabbed my ****
licked her lips and started talkin that porno ****
She said look here I know you're Kid Rock
then whispered in my ear "I wanna swallow your ****"
Well blow me up and then blow me down
cuz I think i just found the biggest freak in town
And now I can't wait to get her back to my house
set her down on her knees and put my **** in her mouth
[Chorus]
***** in your mouth
***** in your mouth; "U want my ***** in your mouth"
Back to my crib with no delay
big grin on my grill and not much to say
Except her yo bitch how's about
I drop my my drawers and put my ***** in your mouth
Next the cutie started rubbin my back
then she put a finger right between my ****** crack
So I grabbed her wrist quick and said hold up slut
"Ain't nobody stickin mothin in my butt"
Now right then I knew I had a ho and a half
and all I could do is sit back and laugh
Stare at the cceiling thinking about
this chick I just met's got my ***** in her mouth
[Chorus]
***** in your mouth
***** in your mouth; "U want my ***** in your mouth"
After I busted my nuts I drove her to the cut
she said "I hope you don't think that I'm a big slut,
And please don't tell anyone what we've been thru"
Next day I told the whole ******* crew
Spread the news thru the whole damn town
and to the chick it musta got back around
So I told the ho sorry and tried to make amends
but she tried to front me in front of my friends
Runnin off at the lip talking all that *****
that I'm a bitch I'm a ***** and that I got a small *****
I just waited till she walked away to shout
"**** you bitch, u had my ***** in your mouth!"

A song called "Balls in Your Mouth". How the hell can you guys defend this moron? If this makes me a prude, I truly do fear for the future of our country.

Lovely, isn't it. George Bush should be proud to have this at his inauguration party!

And what is wrong with being a rebel, if he is one? I know of some people who would have been considered rebels at the founding of this country.

This guy has LESS talent than Bubba Klintoon has morals!

I seen him in concert, he opened for Metallica and he does have talent, I didn't like him before the concert after I had respect for his musical talent. He played guitar, drums, and keyboard... Pretty good... A lot better than those other no talent rappers that don't know how to play instruments.

IF we're going to be critical of kid rock, let's not forget the great things said by the administration we back.

"Major leauge as****le" President Bush
"F**k off" Dick Cheney

If they can use foul language and not get judged by the socially conservative wing of the party then Kid Rock should play at the bash.

Lets not forget his lamentations of abortion with this song:

Abortion -

My veins are poppin from this love inside
I just can't let it out
This pipe and these needles are my only guide
They've got me on the wrong route
What is my life about
Living in the shadows of a man I've never seen
Dreamin' like a lonely child
I know your brothers and your sister and your mother too

Man I wish you could see them too
Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Man I wish that you could see them too
Man I wish that you could see them too

So can I come to see you sometime
Cause I been missin you
I've never heard you cry I've never seen you whine
I'm feeling oh so young
But still I must die to get to you
And if I do I wonder how just you will see me
And implicate the things I've done
I'm diein in the shadows of this man I've never seen
I'll see you soon
Now where's my gun

Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Wheres my gun
Oh wheres my gun
Oh Lord
Wheres my gun
Oh Lord
My gun

Let me open your eyes
Let me see who you are
I am you, you are me
We are a part of
The second coming of christ
It's God himself in a jar
Yeah...yeah
Yeah...yeah

Let me open your eyes
Let me see who you are
I am you, you are me
We are a part of
The second coming of christ
Its god himself in a jar
Yeahhhh
Heyyyyyyy

You got me, sad and lonely
When I'm me...me
You know you make me so lonely
I am so alone
And I will prey and then I'll cry
And I will prey and then I'll cry
And I will prey and then I'll cry
And I will prey and then I'll cry

No worse than Frank Zappa's DynaMoHum from a generation before.

Every generation has its rebels. As they age they seem to become more palatable to society.

Yup. I don't listen to his music although I'm vaguely familiar with it but he should've been allowed to perform.

It's actions like this which cause us to be smeared as all being religious fundamentalist puritanical kooks out to purify the world rather than Americans.

Republican Party does not mean Christian Coalition.

"Who we going to ban next ??"

Oh, good grief, he wasn't 'banned.' If you want your kid to listen to Kid Rock, go right down to the music store and buy a CD.

There are lots of entertainers who are conservatives that won't be performing.

While you may not agree with those who voiced their opinion that they didn't want Kid Rock performing at anything to do with the inaugural, claiming he is 'banned' is just a bit over the top
