In all those great Tracy/Hepburn movies more than a half-century ago, it was the snap and crackle of a romance between equals that was so exciting.

Nice words ... several light-years from today's reality of women who demand that men pay for everything while dating ... and after they're married and then divorced, expect him to pay for everything (again) .... while she squirrls away the child-support for her long-term investment portfolio.

And women wonder WHY american men don't understand the "Committment" word ... (LOL)

uhhh... no. I pay 1/2 every time I go on a date. So do most of the women I know. And my child support = approximately $34 per month. Think California expenses.

Now, tell me again why my bone idle ex who quit his job and is now living in the 19 foot trailer with his 29 year old girlfriend doesn't understand "commitment"?

Four of us laughing our butts off here just reading your post. Three of us are single moms. I'm the one getting the "gravy" child support. And don't use the "California" excuse. Have friends all over the country in the same boat.

I find it funny that every criticism one sex has toward the other goes both ways. It's become a vicious circle. One gets burned, blames all of it on all the members of the other sex, never takes responsibility for their own stupid choice or the ways they contributed to the downfall of the relationship (e.g. following hormones instead of good sense, for example) and therefore never learns how to avoid the losers.

Therefore, the losers keep ending up with losers who only want to play at the shallow end of the pool.
