Mission Group Changes Plans for 'Tsunami Orphans' - Won't Take Orphans

The Virginia-based missionary group WorldHelp has dropped its plans to place 300 Muslim "tsunami orphans" in a Christian children's home, the group's president, the Rev. Vernon Brewer, told news agencies Thursday.

The children were still in the Muslim province of Aceh and had not been airlifted to Jakarta, Indonesia's capital, according to an electronic mail message under Brewer's name circulating among his supporters.

In an interview Tuesday for an article published in Thursday's editions of The Washington Post , Brewer said that the children already had been airlifted to Jakarta and that the Indonesian government had given permission for them to be placed in a Christian children's home. He said then that the government had been told "explicitly" that the orphans would be raised in a Christian environment.

Brewer did not return calls from The Post Thursday to his home, office and cell phone.

In the e-mail Thursday, as well as in statements given to Reuters and Agence France Presse, Brewer said WorldHelp had raised $70,000 to place the first 50 of the children in a Christian orphanage before the Indonesian government stepped in.

"Once we became aware that the government had refused to let these children be placed in a Christian home, we immediately stopped all fundraising efforts for the remaining 250 Indonesian orphaned children and appeals were removed from our website," the e-mail said.

I'm so glad to see my old pal Alan Cooperman got a job. I really liked him when we were friends in Singapore.

What did I say!

Check previous posts yesterday and the night before on this.

I took less tahn 48 hours for them to retract this idea the idiots bragged to the press and they were cut off at the knees.

They probabaly reveived death threats that every mission post they had would be burned to the ground.

They preach and teach when it is expediant to them. They attempted to lift up and exalt their name -- instead of caring for these children as their words might have led one to believe.

And now they will tear their dress and cry rape and ask for more offerings.

Amen.

This group really annoyed me.

How would he like it if a Christian settlement was decimated by a tsunami and a bunch of Muslims came in, scooped up the orphans, and said they'd be fed and sheltered and raised Islamofascist? How would the dead parents like that? How would the remaining Christians like that?

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. They'll come to Christ when they are ready to come to Christ. Taking advantage of a situation like that is just the way to get everybody angry and everybody killed. Get this guy out of there.

How sad is this! I would adopt several children in a heartbeat in order to give them a decent life! Yes, they would attend my Roman Catholic Church, along with the rest of my gang. I have one baby going on eleven and always wished for more, he is my pride and joy! I would love to give other kids that same opportunity, but I guess Madrassahs and the Evil pact of Muhammed is more important to these fascists!
Wait til all of these kids start costing them dollars, they'll either have enough donations to "Place" them as the new Jihadi's or they'll sell them into you already know what! I have not sent a dime for this reason and I hope other American's will realize that our charity dollars should remain local.
We are likely funding the future of Al Queda with our generosity ...

Make no mistake that is what we are doing.

Article last night on FR noted that christian missions and orgs can not work or donate to sri lanka to so so carries a 5 -7 year sentence for each count.

This may sound cruel but every nickle you give to these regimes will in effect be sued to teach and raise jihadists We need only help those that have open doors and leave the rest to see the cheapness and lack of support from their true brothers.

Aren't there some orphaned Christian children that need help? Why can't they use the donations for them, since the Indonesian government won't let them take in Muslim orphans?

Sounds like they scammed a quick $70,000 on the deal which will now be used for something other than the cause claimed when the money was raised.

There are still plenty awaiting homes around the world.
