Yep, the world works in mysterious ways. It was just a few years ago when Hackworth was the darling of right-wing talk radio, and even some cable news outlets.

Goes to show! Just look at the metamorphosis the darling of the GRWC -- Adrianna Huffington underwent. Turned into a one-issue blank page in the matter of a couple of years.

But, in all candor, Hackworth was always a lightweight; full of himself, and steeped in the past, while most of us were trying to get beyond our SEA experiences.

Anyhoo -- the turkey is seen in his real stripes. But, Hackworth's elevator has always been a bit slow; so I guess we can give him some slack in the intellect department. Nevertheless: Dupe then; Dupe now!

Even if Hackworth repents, at this point no one will ever trust him again. Is it real inside information he's giving us, from his contacts in the military, or is he just shooting off his big mouth?

For instance, I took it on Hackworth's say-so that Wesley Clark's fellow officers nicknamed him "the Ultimate Perfumed Prince." Clark's career and behavior make it plausible, and Hackworth assured us it was true.

Now, I'm suspending judgment. I can't believe anything he's ever said until I get a second opinion on it.
