"You forgot the ever convenient, 'it is because they are all on drugs' line. LOL!"
Hehehehehe. Right you are. Well, ya know, drugs create the terror problem in the Kingdom's south, the causes of this drug problem are surely Internet cafe's and nightspots, therefore a further crackdown on the dark influences of Internet cafe's and nightspots throughout the entire country must be the solution to the Muslim terror problem in the south. LOL.
Actually, and despite his often bizarre rhetoric, I suspect Thaksin does have some idea that he is dealing with far more than drug addicted gang members, but recall each time he has reacted forcefully he's been ferociously slapped down by NGO's, his neighbors, the West and even the too-docile-of-late Thai press.
Unfortunantly, one of the side effects of the tsunami was to give Thaksin an opportunity to shine in a crisis and has resulted in his approval ratings skyrocketing in the latest public approval survey's. With the Democrats in disarray, it appears TRT will win a massive victory in the upcoming elections. I would only be half joking if I said I wouldn't be surprised to see national bedtime legislation enacted as a way to improve social order and combat terrorism.

I thought it was brilliant when they blew up the Mosque last April. Hell of a way to negotiate.
Too bad I haven't been in Thailand for the past few months. I was trying to get my Thai friends to make paper birds out of pages of the Koran. Unfortunately I couldn't get any of them to go along with it.

His corporations and friends can't make money off a 'national bedtime' so I doubt he would do it. Maybe he can issue a 'I-am-allowed-out-after-10-pm card' for anyone who wants to pay 5 million baht. I am curious how much his net worth is going to go up with all the rebuilding work from the Tsunami.
