We have quite a few RINOs serving, I see. Wonder if Kerry will show up? He's been so busy trashing the US that he may be too tired.

Let the preening and the self-serving speeches disguised as questions begin.
There is nothing in the universe that possesses less value than a United States Senator in front of a TV camera.

LOL! This'll be rich, Kerry, Biden, Boxer and Osama Obama!! The Pubs have a few RINOs on that committee. I was very unimpressed with Lamar Alexander last week. He gave a tv interview on Fox and not recognizing the name I at first was convinced he was a RAT. Isn't that specccccial?

Popcorn's ready here.

Peach, I'm betting Kerry will be there. I wouldn't be surprised if he asks Dr. Rice why, in Ohio, some dems had to wait in line 11 hours while the Republicans were whisked through the voting process. Then he'll go on as to why we are pushing for a vote in Iraq when we can't even stop disenfranchisement of voters here in our own country. Hopefully Dr. Rice has a flip flop in her purse she can whip out at an opportune moment. ;-)

committee membership - Senators are assigned to specific committees by their party conference. Seniority, regional balance, and political philosophy are the most prominent factors in the committee assignment process.
To: OXENinFLA
We can only hope that Coleman, Sununu, and Martinez comport themselves well. As for the others, it looks like a who's who of charlatan losers and peacocks.
Do we dare watch Biden and Dodd? Forget the popcorn, I'm going for a preemptive strike with a good anti-nausea elixir.

What a committee...is this the best we can do?Just makes a person feel all warm and fuzzy, doesn't it? On another topic, what about Howie Dean possibly getting the DNC chair! And Bill Kristol says Bill&Hill want Weasley Clark to jump in the running.
I have to go get the car serviced before our trip next week. Will check back in.

I think he and Mel Martinez (R, FL) are junior senators, and there is probably a chair reserved for a junior senator from each party.

Lamar's OK. He served in congress before and ran for president (remember the flannel shirt?). I think our team is OK except for Chaffee and the increasingly nauseating Hagel and Lugar. The rest are pretty darn good.

Chaffee is a scared-witless, whiny little boy. He might attack, if he had the guts. More likely he will whine, whine, whine about how baaaaaaaad everything in the world is going, and pout that Papa Bush and Mama Rice haven't majically fixed the "booboos".
To: Quilla
Gosh, I want to say my guess is Kerry won't be there.
But I hope he is so we can make fun of his haughty and unctous ways and watch Dr. Rice put him in his place.

Hmmmm....fair enough...but I must ponder the reason that Obama appears on all networks all the time, yet I would not recognize Mel Martinez in any situation.......Hmmmmmmmm...... GRIN!

What's wrong with Allen, Coleman, Murkowski, Voinovich, Martinez (who I'm really looking forward to seeing), Alexander and Sununu? I've seen them do well at other times and expect they'll do well today. Lugar can be awful but I've seen him do well, Chaffee can be a putz and Hagel makes me sick anymore, but to be fair, he can also do well when he wants to. Knowing the cameras are rolling I expect him to say something annoying, but I'd say overall our side of the committee is fine.
