Clinton Library Attendance Disappointing
NewsMax.com ^ | 19 January 2005

When it opened two months ago, Bill Clinton's presidential library was supposed to draw so many visitors that the city of Little Rock would become a tourist mecca.

However, early reports claiming that over 100,000 had visited in just the first six weeks have turned out to be bogus.

The National Archives and Records Administration, which operates the facility, tells U.S. News & World Report that only 42,054 paid to enter. The rest were guests of the former president and freebies to VIPs. Despite wall-to-wall television coverage of its opening, and a deluge of favorable press, attendance figures for the $162 million compound are even less than the attendance at the Reagan and Bush 41 libraries immediately after they opened.

"I thought it would be better," a disappointed Clinton told the magazine.

Surely, eight years of Slick Willy is more than enough!

Who in their right mind would want to re-visit that disaster by trotting along to the Clinton Library? Answer: Not too many!

8 years of his lies was enough. No use re-living the bad memories all over again.

I agree.

I've had the opportunity to visit a few Presidential Libraries over the last ten years and by far, Clinton's doesn't even rate a blip on my radar screen...nor will it ever.

Ahh when the media hype doesn't reflect true reality. Within 5 years the LIE-brary will be asking the voters to bail it out!

Paid to enter? It's a public library isn't it, fer chrissakes? Don't remember an "admission fee" to the Reagan library...

However, early reports claiming that over 100,000 had visited in just the first six weeks have turned out to be bogus.

They're mixing the number of visitors up with the 100,000 additional cops Clinton supposedly put on the streets.

Actually, that's how I felt about his presidency. (I knew it would be bad, but I didn't think it would be THAT bad.)

Actually, there is a fee at the Reagan Library. Not very much.

How much is admission to the Clinton Lie-berry? 25-cents a peep?

Flash forward two years from now and they'll be lucky to draw 42,000 a year unless, as Limbaugh suggests, they add a massage parlor and cigar stand.

It probably would have been smarter to put the library in San Francisco rather than Little Rock.

So much for the media lie that Clinton was a "popular" President. His personal approval ratings were always in the tank.

I've been to the Nixon, Reagan and Truman libraries, would definitely go see the Kennedy, Bush and Carter libraries, but I would not go to the Clinton Library, even if it were free.
