Streets closed in Hartford from possible gas leak (Connecticut capitol)

(Hartford-WTNH, Jan. 18, 2005 6:12 PM) Some streets in the vicinity of city hall are closed because of a gas odor.

According to police the odor is coming from behind city hall.

Right now Prospect Street between Sheldon Street and Atheneum Square is closed to traffic.

Any detonation could only improve Hartford. I lived there for two awful years. What a pit.

I once knew someone who was in a building when it exploded due to a major gas leak in the basement. The explosion lifted up the whole building and shins snapped in two under the force.
