POLS' BLOOD FEUD (Kennedy/Cuomo)
New York Post ^ | 1/19/05 | FREDRIC U. DICKER

Posted on 01/19/2005 12:13:31 AM PST by kattracks

New York politics is looking positively Shakespearean now that Robert Kennedy Jr. is eyeing a run for attorney general against Andrew Cuomo — the man whose very public, bitter split from Kennedy's sister pitted two of the most powerful families in American politics against each other.

Family insiders say Kennedy, son of the assassinated New York senator by the same name, has never gotten over Cuomo's public contention that his sister, Kerry Kennedy Cuomo, "betrayed" him by engaging in a steamy affair with polo-playing cad Bruce Colley.

And the sources contend that Cuomo, son of former Gov. Mario Cuomo, has never forgiven Kennedy for failing to respond to his pleas to intervene with Kerry in hopes that Robert could prevent her from seeing Colley before the break-up.

[snip]

But a source close to Cuomo said his relationship with Kennedy turned bitter after Kennedy rebuffed requests to intercede with his sister before an ongoing affair with Colley led to the breakup of their marriage.

"Andrew tried to enlist Bobby to convince his sister to stop seeing Colley, and he refused to do so," said a source who knows both men. "Things weren't the same after that."

The Cuomos' nasty split — which followed tales of illicit love-nest trysts between Kerry and Bruce at Manhattan pals' pads — grabbed national headlines after lurid details of the married lovers' affair first surfaced in the summer of 2003.

Robert Kennedy Jr is positively retarded or crazy or who knows what. All you need to do is hear him on on Sean Hannity's show. There is something wrong with the guy. He might have something wrong neurologically.

Andrew Cuomo is just plain evil and nasty. But then his Kennedy wife is a real piece of work too.

Robert F. Kennedy, JR. is the biggest ENVIRONMENTAL NAZI in this country today! Every time this a-hole opens his mouth on Sean Hannity's radio show, or on "Hannity & Colmes" I want to GAG big time.

What a pile of wasted crap!

He wants all of us to stop "trashing the environment" but I haven't noticed him willing to give up any of his perks like a private jet (whether owned or loaned), limos, homes, etc. Until then, he can shut up because I'm not listening.

As they say in Ireland; "The Kennedy's are saloon keeper class". And it is not a compliment!

Really? Pretty nice place in Hyannis for such low lifes?
Addiction comes to many and it crosses family lines. The alcohol and drug issues may well be inherited and the Kennedy gang could be a study for the "weakness"

The term, as explained to me, was that they (a saloon keeper) would sell a man "drink" knowing full well that it would cause that man's family to go hungry. This of course, is opposite the friendly pub keeper, who knows everyone's circumstances, acts as an employment agency, banker, marriage counselor. The Kennedy family wealth goes back to Joe SR's grandmother who had a hole in the wall speakeasy, and of course Joe SR himself.
I see a bit of Karma there!

"It might be fallout from his old heroin habit."

Yes, all those drugs eat up the brain cells and depending on how many you have to waste... My guess is this guy was not overly endowed to begin with and once he got straight (assuming that he did) he could use the ones he destroyed to function someplace in the normal range.

Does anybody know if there is any law in N.Y. in regard to a felon running for and holding the highest law enforcement position? I know he's a Kennedy and that probably gives him rights that peons don't have, but it seems odd to me that a drug felon could be elected A.G.
