Two local Buddhist teenagers were wounded when suspected Islamic militant gunmen opened fire on their school bus in Yala province today, police said.
Two boys aged 14 and 15 were shot in the hip and shoulder by two gunmen on motorbike who fired at a pick-up truck that had been converted to a school bus, police said.
He said the teenage victims were taken to a local hospital and were in stable condition.
In a separate incident, a 52-year-old villager was shot dead by a suspected militants using a military gun late Tuesday as he entered his home in the Narathiwat province, police said.
Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said the shootings were a "desperate action" by militants and vowed to continue the hunt for ring leaders in the southern border provinces.

And of course, profiling isn't justified in trying to screen for terrorists, right?
For the murderously inclined, Islam gives a perfect excuse and justification for their killings. And there are a lot of murderously inclined people in Arab and Muslim territories.
After all, Muhammad, their cult founder, was murderously inclined. The Koran depicts his murders and assassinations and a good Muslim is supposed to copy Muhammad's life.
Any question about who the "god" is that these people serve?
