I already do all that, because I'm frugal ("cheap" if you'd rather).
Admittedly, I wish others would conserve, too, if only because I'd like my kids to have cheap resources, too.
Your great-grandparents probably worried about their descendants having cheap whale oil for their lamps and oats for their horses. The market will adjust to find technology so that your progeny will have "cheap resources" you can't even imagine now. Unless, of course, global socialists acting as energy nannies screw the whole thing up.
