hmm i seem to remember the reason being something other then honor as well. Something about every American having a gun and not wanting to fight house to house with citizens, let alone the American military.

Again, I was just making reference to something I had read many years ago. I am NOT saying that all japanese are honourable, just as I don't think that all who profess Christ are Christian. I was just making a comment.
