I saw Cheney sitting next to Bush and Laura at whatever the event was tonight (sorry, I really don't know what the singing and fireworks, etc. were about).
Since Cheney and Bush were together today, then DC appears safe at least. FReegards....
They had a concert scheduled tonight "A Celebration of Freedom." Tuesday they had the salute to the military and the youth concerts.
