Hello snugs. You still up? FNC is replaying scenes from the Ball. Nice to see it twice.

We lived a half hour from D.C. for a year, and the only snow we had was one 4" fall of light, fluffy stuff that you could drive through with no trouble.

You lived there in an unusual year. DC is just far enough south that the temps get above freezing during the day, so most years there is an ice coating on top of whatever.
Most years, we spend months driving on ice coated snow, or black ice, or the like. A climate cold enough to keep snow instead of turning the top layer into ice is much easier to deal with.

Dropping in to say hi. I've been working lots lately so I haven't gotten to talk to y'all much. I have tomorrow off though and I plan on watching the festivities ALL day (much to the dismay of my mother).

Just call me green because I am soooooo jealous of everybody that gets to be anywhere near any of the up-comming events Me too. Of course I could be there if I wanted to take the time off to go. I worked in Washington DC for over a year so I know the city. Eisenhower was president then. He rode in an open convertible limousine. We did not worry about assination in those days. Times have changed.

Hi all! What fun it's been flipping through the channels to find our guy! I just wish the networks had aired more :( I got to see Ruben Studdard sing a gorgeous version of the Anthem, but missed the fireworks. I missed the Gatlin Brothers... what channel aired him? I got to see all of what CNN carried, they're doing a better job than FNC! MSNBC's also been covering more than FNC form what I've seen. Can't wait til tomorrow!!

Thanks :) I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. I've got lots of junk food for watching TV and I don't intend to leave my room all day. Again, much to the dismay of my mother. But it's either that or I gloat to her face and I don't think she'd like that any better.

New Senator Thune from S. Dakota. He defeated Senator Daschle, the obstructionist Democrat Leader.

What a great thing to do before his second Inauguration! Visiting our historic documents.

Last week, I was honored to be invited to have lunch with Michael Graham (EMAL 630 AM, on for 3 hours before Rush here in the DC area) and a bunch of his invited guests. Sitting across the table from me was a young lady who works at National Archives and I had a neat time asking her all kinds of questions when Michael had to leave for a taping of "Crossfire".

One thing I'll never forget. She said that THE picture of the Iwa Jima statue, hangs in her office. Wowser.

I am so jealous - being around all that old paper. I love our historic documents and would probably pay someone to let me work there!

I did follow his campaign on the net and I believe the VP campaigned on his behalf and then after the election he went on a pheasant hunt with the VP.

When you get to a live thread, will you ping me? I seem to finally find them when they are over 500 posts, and can never catch up and "get with it".

Thanks.
