only the families of Iraqi war dead need apply. If a soldier died in Afghanistan, or aiding tsunami victims in Indonesia or Sri Lanka, or in a training exercise, never mind. That isn't the "balance" ABC is looking for.
stay at a Marriott - or go to FoxNews.com's hotel locator, and you can find plenty of hotels with FoxNews. It is a miserable experience to stay out of town with only CNN.
FoxNews and highspeed internet are my first two requirements for hotel living, these days.
Blogolution. Clumsy, but catchy.
Real men don't whine.
AMEN!
Are you kidding?! They were partying WITH CLINTON!
Not only is MSM (OLD MEDIA) stupid, they are also arrogant as hell.
Have you, at long last, no shame at all?
What would be the point of this story running on Inauguration day, except as a propaganda piece to advance the anti-war position?
It is always a legitimate story, and Americans should be reminded from time to time, that our brave soldiers are risking their lives for our national interest.
Maybe you don't think the Iraq War is in out national interest. Fair enough. It is a legitimate question for debate.
But to spotlight these funerals on the day the duly elected Commander in Chief is inaugurated is exploitative.
Surely, soldiers are being buried on other days. So why run the story now? The timing is clearly designed to advance your editorial viewpoint, inflame the debate and add to the division of our nation.
What you are attempting to do with this story is NOT journalism. It is ambulance chasing, pure and simple.
I am appalled, though sadly not surprised, that you have taken this road.

Clinton Takes Oath as 42nd President Asking Sacrifice, Promising Renewal

William Jefferson Clinton took the oath of office as the nation's 42nd president yesterday in a crisp ceremony of pomp and poetry and promised dramatic change in the service of a renewed America.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/national/longterm/inaug/history/stories/clint92.htm
The new president's belongings already had been moved into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. He had issued his first executive order implementing his administration's ethics rules, signing it "William J. Clinton." His aides were bustling with confusion and excitement in their new West Wing offices. And Bush, now the nation's fifth living former president, was back in Houston.
With the skies over Iraq peaceful after a jarring week of U.S. military action there, Clinton could put aside for this one day the crises in play around the globe.
One of Clinton's first key acts as president will be to issue an order barring discrimination against homosexuals and lesbians in the military, congressional and Defense Department officials said last night.
The hour-long inaugural ceremony came on a chilly but brilliant winter day and marked a historic generational transfer of power. Clinton, 46, becomes the country's third youngest commander in chief, and he replaces the fourth oldest. Albert Gore Jr., surrounded by his wife Tipper and their four children ages 19 to 10, took the vice presidential oath from Justice Byron R. White. Soprano Marilyn Horne sang and Maya Angelou, the first poet at an inauguration since Robert Frost took the podium at John F. Kennedy's swearing-in, recited a poem written for the occasion, "On the Pulse of Morning."
Clinton, with daughter Chelsea at his side and wife Hillary Rodham Clinton holding a Bible given to Clinton by his grandmother, took the oath from Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist. He used his 14-minute inaugural address to return almost entirely to the themes that brought him to this moment -- the need for a change in Washington and in the nation, the need for Americans to sacrifice and serve for the common good, the need for the post-Cold War generation to lead a renewed America.
MORE...PUKE!
I have also refused to make reservations at hotels that do not have Fox News, and have said so to their reservation agents.
I sent an e-mail to ABC News and said the following amongst other things.
You are not going to tell me that if Kerry was being inaugurated he would give up this celebration because of the war in Iraq and or the Tsunami disaster. He would not and you and I know it. There would be contributions from people like Soros and Michael Moore and most of Hollywood elite with their agenda to socialize America and downgrade morality in America. This phony. Kerry, would play it up for all its worth; after all he sought this job starting with his horrible criticism of the our Vietnam armed forces. Great that corporations contribute. They are the ones who give us jobs and drives this economy. I can see why Kerry and the Media would not want this inauguration. They are all sour grapes!!!! Did we ever hear of the cost of the inauguration when Clinton was Inaugurated. I don't think so. All of you are hypocrites.

Let the hotel know you want Fox News, or you'll find another that does carry it.
I'd rather they show a military funeral than what they WILL do.
And that is focus on the protesters, with their backs to the parade (and/or podium).
That's 154 per month, or 5 per day.
Not US military volunteer troops in Iraq, or Afghanistan.
I wonder how many funerals there are going on in those war zones today?
By all means let us suspend the presidential inauguration in mourning.
