We have only won if he STAYS a footnote. The vietnam vets who's reputation he tarnished with his BS testimony can only win when he admits his false testimony. Until then, none of us should "get over it." Are you over 9/11 just because we got Saddam out? No? I didn't think so.
I don't think his brothers in arms will get over being accused of commiting atrocities en masse. It's one thing if you confess your own sins; you have no right confessing for other people.

I, personally, think John Kerrey is a dangerous person. He is so ambious and dishonest -- I would put nothing past him for the opportunity to achieve greatness in his eyes.
That's why the voting public SHOULD be allowed to see his military records and to see if our Government gave him a less than honorable discharge and why. And then, if so, how was he able to get it changed to an honorable discharge, through hook or crook? It is that "hook or crook" that would be most telling and would alert the public as to core of John Kerrey.
Although I believe him to be a traitor and anti-American, his military records won't prove THAT -- but it might prevent him from further political aspirations.
