Iranians cheer massively Mr. Bush's Inaugural speech

Reports from across Iran are stating about the massive welcoming of President George W. Bush's inaugural speech and his promise of helping to bring down the last outposts of tyranny.

Millions of Iranians have been reported as having stayed home, on Thursday night which is their usual W.end and outgoing night, in order to see or hear the Presidential speech and the comments made by the Los Angeles based Iranian satellite TV and radio networks, such as, NITV or KRSI.

The speech and its package of hope have been, since late yesterday night and this morning, the main topics of most Iranians' conversations during their familial and friendly gatherings, in the collective taxis and buses, as well as, among groups of young Iranians who gather outside the cities on the Fridays.

Many were seen showing the " V " sign or their raised fists. Talks were focused on steps that need to be taken in order to use the first time ever favorable International condition.

Many Iranians, who were looking for the World's super power firm moral support and financial aid to credible secularist opposition groups, are now becoming sure that Mr. Bush's agenda is indeed to help them to gain Freedom, Secularity and Democracy. They do believe correctly that such way will avoid an unnecessary US invasion or military strike against Iranian facilities which will help the Mullahcracy to consolidate its illegitimate and unpopular power, while causing heavy financial damages and human causalities.

What had always been missing in order to create a wide scale Iranian democratic revolution, such as what happened in Georgia, was till now a firm and noticeable World pressure on the Islamic regime and a trustable Opposition Council with a correct agenda.

Various reports from underground groups are stating that Iranians will be increasing the Civil Disobedience Movement by making more strikes and demos in the days ahead.

I think the Iranians who want a democracy are being smart. After we went to Iraq, I heard some Iranians say "Us next". And I think they know there is a limited amount of support we can give them until the situation in Iraq is calm. When (I'm sure it's just "when") Iraq is calm, the Iranians will start their fight for democracy, and I really think President Bush will support them in what they need.
I also think it will be a case where the US is clearly supporting a freedom movement instead of taking the lead, as it did in Iraq.

I think the Muslim extremists know that, too, which is why they're sending everyone they can to Iraq. Once Iraq is on a path to democracy, the Irani population will get impatient, and it will be the end of the muhlocracy.

LOL!! Please list, in detail, how these have been compromised?

I must have missed it.

Indeed, his speech about the "evil empire" was met with derision and disdain by the liberals here, while millions of enslaved peoples in the old USSR applauded it and were given hope. "Finally someone is speaking the truth about how we are suffering!"

Have either of you read "Reading Lolita in Tehran - A Memoir in Books" by Azar Nafisi? In it she reers to the students at the University of Tehran revolting and says, "Be careful what you wish for, you may just get it." She goes on to speak of how naive some of them were about the whole thing. I recommend this book. It's well written and explains her feelings of living in Iran (as an educated woman) under Islamic rule.

I have not, but thank you for the referral. It would be interesting to hear her take on current events.

After President George W Bush is re-elected and sworn in the World will be assured that America is back and Freedom is on the march. Nowhere will that be more evident and hopeful than in the Middle East where there has been wars and oppression since Biblical times. Lady Liberty is a powerful force that blows like a cool breeze across the oppressed. A year from now that breeze will be blowing strong across Afghanistan and Iraq.

A year from now, Afghanistan will be freeing every corner of the Country from the North to the South. After decades of war, freedom has allowed the people to turn their guns into plows. The agricultural needs of the country are being met and the country will be beginning to feed itself. The roads will be improving to allow the free commerce that this country so desperately needs. They are no longer at war with either Pakistan or Iran and the Govt can focus on repairing its infrastructure. The warlords are still in control of the outer regions, however freedom is spreading even in those regions and the poppy problem will begin to be replaced by real crops.

Iraq will have had its elections and President Alawi will be in complete control of the Country. Saddamn will be on trial and his execution will either be completed or on its way, giving the people an end to his unspeakable brutality. His funding of terrorism has ended and many of his terrorist groups such as Hamas and PLO are being strangled financially. His $Billions gave many terrorist the abilities they no longer have now, including the 25K for every suicide bomber in Israel.

Both Falluja and the Sunni Triangle have been defeated and are turning to becoming productive areas of the country. The Iraqi National Guard will be patrolling those areas and outside of isolated attacks this will be a stable Country. The training of ING troops will begin taking pressure of US troops and the returning of our troops will be in sight. The oil industry will be growing and modernizing as the fresh dollars from high oil prices bring money to the people rather than the Gummit.

Freedom has brought the people hope and having their own Country that is allied with America, there is a new optimism that there will never be a tyrant again. Businesses are starting everywhere and the squeezing of terrorists make the Country safer for foreign businesses which are being drawn like bees to honey. Iraq is now the fastest growing economy in the World and the sky’s the limit.

Schools are open and teaching the children not to hate Americans or Jews. The future generations will be filled with young people who love their neighbors rather than kill them. The Govt will open negotiations with Syria, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and even Israel. Lady Liberty will move across this region like a wildfire burning bright. The Syrians and Iranians begin discussions of dropping their Weapons of Mass Destruction as both Countries have major riots and unrest problems from their own people hungry for Lady Liberty.

Pressure is being brought to bear on Iran as it is surrounded by Afghanistan and Iran while Freedom marches on. The border areas are filled with nomadic tribes that trade back and forth across the border and the word is being spread. The tenuous hold on the people is being stressed which is causing the leaders to agree with many of the demands of the world against their atomic weapons program. The fall of Iran is inevitable.

The future looks bright for both Afghanistan and Iraq. Freedom is a powerful force that can bring commerce and peace to a part of the world that has had very little of either. Persia and the Middle East has fought or been oppressed since the Dawn of Man. Thanks to President George W Bush and his re-election the cradle of man has a New Dawn.

Pray for W and Our Troops

What is the "this" that we should take advantage of? There is no evidence given of any movement or revolution in this "article" that has no source cited, other than a blogger's site.

Educate yourself a little and you will discover that student riots, marches and protests are common in Iran by young people against the Mullahs

It may be healthier if it happens soon, before the mullahs develop a nuc.....after that, we may have wished we
'd been a little quicker with the MOAB.

Freedom loving people and those that wnat freedom welcomed that speech... Tyrants and liberals didn't...

Me too, especially early in his speech when he looked right into the camera. I said to my wife, that one's for the Iranians

I thought the exact same thing. I'm glad I'm not alone.

"it was not the majority of the Iranians who wanted this government. Is it your contention that all Persians should suffer for the decisions of some? How long should they have to pay? When most governments are overthrown it doesn't mean that the "people's choice" has been installed."

Exactly. And thank you.

This is a regime that tightens it grip with arrests and execution when it becomes more insecure. It probably will be bloody at first, but I hope as you, that Iran cleanses itself soon.
