Was that before or after Jordan kept talking trash about the Pistons during the 3-4 years before their first title.
College basketball is the only thing worth watching nowadays.
LOL! Hey, he'd be on your territory. If I ever come to New York, maybe could catch a game and I'll introduce you. I KNOW how much you'd enjoy that!!!!!!
Lenny is better off without them.
I'm no fan of Jordan, but he was 1000% right on that one.
I was a second-generation Knicks fan (my dad used to take his kid brother to games at the old Garden) who gave up on them when it turned out that some are rabid Jew-haters -- and management swept it under the rug. Since then, the team has sucked in a major way.
Eek!
Seriously though, please do let me know if you're ever heading this way. :)
So is Jeff Van Gundy
Lenny's no thug and he wasn't one as a player. The league would be a lot better if there were more Lenny Wilkens still around. I don't think all the players are thugs, but the pro game has become awfully ugly lately. I still watch college basketball, but even that great game is not what It used to be.
The Knicks suck because they play the game with 12 basketballs. That movie with Whoopie what's her name about the team is basically this years Knicks.
If they learn to play as a team they will win more.
Definitely!
True.
Agreed. Thomas pretty much purged the team of almost all the players they had he arrived and imported Marbury (at great expense). The results speak for themselves. A TOTAL disaster.
Actually Dennis Rodman made that statement, before he became a weirdo.
Well I wouldn't go that far. He's still one of the greatest guards to ever play the game. But he does have a conniving demeanor, which he tries to hide with that smile.
Isiah chimed in hence the strained relations between him and Bird to this day.
Hmm, OK.
He might be one of the 'greatest' guards (but on that I'll still disagree). But personality wise he's a punk. Take Latrell Sprewell (please) for instance, he can play 'great' BB, but personally he's a punk.
That's the whole problem with the NBA today (IMO), they'll all (90.655%) no class, low class 'punks' now. Isiah was just the first one. And by 'no class', low class', I don't mean growing up poor. That has nothing to do with it. For instance; Charles Barkley grew up poor, so did Karl Malone and they weren't/aren't 'punks'.
But in those 'old day's' they actually played Basketball in the NBA, now its all 'one-on-one', give me the ball, and watch me launch a 30 ft 'clunker'.
