Rest in peace Johnny.
Anybody have that old May 10, 2002 Enquirer?
Drugdge either has bad taste of bad timing as Johnny Carson just passed away. He was a great talent, made Americans laugh for 30 years. I missed him after he retired, there's been nothing like him since. Rest in peace Mr. Carson, you helped millions of Americans feel good for a very long time, you will be sorely missed.
Leno hasn't touched his Tonight Show money. With interest it should be 250,000,000 easy.
I wonder if Carson ever was informed that the fatal trip to Croatia that resulted in Ron Brown's death -- however it happened -- was on behalf of Enron.

This is the kind of shit here that pisses me off. The man isn't even cold in the ground, and someone has to find something to dis him over.
It is not very Christian to celebrate someones death in order to denounce their life.
The thing about Johnny Carson was, you could barely tell his politics. Sure, from the sounds of it, he was left of center. But what made him so great was, you couldn't tell. His jokes and so forth didn't give off some political spin that today's comics do. And other then this interview, Carson kept to himself and stayed out of the limelight. Unlike some of today's so-called entertainers.
He may not be perfect (of course) but he was still a great man.
Looks like Johnny was an equal opportunity jokester.
I would have loved to hear him on this issue.
During their coverage yesterday, the Fox News entertainment reporter (forgot his name, but he used to sit in the third seat on Fox & Friends Weekend before he was replaced with Julian) said that Johnny was a big fan of Fox News Channel.
Johnny Carson was a loose cannon.......
There is a very rare, as far as I know unavailable in video, of Carson's guest interview with JFK assassination researcher Jim Garrison. An audio file of parts of it is somewhere available on the net ( sniff around JFK Lancer)
A very solemn, strange episode. I need to dig up the excerpts and listen to it again.
Anyone remember the "Johnny Carbon" skit by Firesign Theatre?
With the Ed McMahon dummy that sat on the couch and yelled "Hi Yo, Ha Ha Ha Ha" at random moments?
There's a ton of Firesign material out on the Internet, but Johnny Carbon seems lost to comedic history. I can't find mention of him anywhere.
Rest In Peace Johnny. You are an irreplacable American treasure.
I know this is evil of me to say at such a time as this but that man sure trashed Bush this election.

Johnny Carson served in the US Navy during WW 2.
He never struck me as a lefty although he made fun of both sides during election time.
Carson had the unique ability to keep his politics to himself, something that today's "Entertainers" would do well to learn.
He was a good egg. Apparently he had real trouble just being himself when the cameras weren't on him. He lost a son to a car accident some years back. I wish him peace.
I don't care what Johnny said in the past, he's stll a great man and doesn't deserve to be trashed like this.
I don't think Johnny boy will have much more to say, unless it's from the other side of eternity, wherever he is.
>> Carson takes on Bush: "Can you believe this Enron mess? I love how his good friend 'Kenny Boy' suddenly turned into 'Mr. Lay'.
I had no idea Johnny was so dumb when it came to political matters (unless he was misquoted).
