Medical Class : Second Medical Date: 08/2004

Could someone who knows more about pilot registration explain this? Does this mean he was issued some kind of extension on his pilot's license? After he failed to file registration papers for the plane?

A Second Class Medical Certificate is required to (legally) fly as an instructor, or any other flying for hire. It's valid for 24 calendar months, then another examination by a flight surgeon is necessary.

A medical certificate is in no way connected to a person's pilot certificate or aircraft registration.
