Yes, but their fellow Democrats, including their spokespersons in the "Mainstream Newsmedia", were only too ready to comply. If the Democrat Party had not already sunk into the cesspool, the Clintons would have gotten nowhere.
Clinton and Carter together personify the quintessence of the contemporary Democrat Party: the Party of Fools and Soundrels.
